Our Resources For COVID-19

ACCU's Response

Below are our most recent updates on COVID-19 (Coronavirus) communications.

At America’s Christian Credit Union, if accounts are overdrawn, any deposits are automatically applied to cover negative balances. However, we are committed to ensuring you have full access to your CARES Act stimulus funds. Please contact us if you have questions or need further information on how we can help you. Your credit union continues to be here for you during these unprecedented times. If you have any questions, you can call us on our toll-free number 1-800-343-6328.

The CARES Act temporarily waives required minimum distributions (RMDs) from qualified retirement plans and IRAs for the calendar year 2020.  This relief also applies to beneficiaries of inherited retirement accounts taking only the yearly required minimum distributions.  If you would like to forego your 2020 RMD please contact our IRA Specialist at 626-208-5559.

Government Action That May Impact You.

The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act was recently signed into law. It included several provisions aimed at helping Americans stay engaged in the economy through April and help you with your bills. Here are some highlights that may directly impact you:

Paycheck Protection Program: A $349 billion Small Business Administration (SBA) lending program with a 100% government guarantee. These loans are now available to churches, ministries, and Christian Schools. Loan proceeds can be used to cover payroll, healthcare, mortgage, rent, utilities, and interest on debt. ACCU is approved as a lender for this program and began taking applications on Friday, April 3, 2020. To learn more about the SBA eligibility requirements and to begin your application, click here

Stimulus payments: Most Americans are eligible to receive a stimulus payment from the government in the next few weeks. These payments are based on your most recent tax filing. Members who are receiving Social Security retirement and disability payments will also receive a stimulus payment. To learn more about these payments and to see if you're eligible, click here

Unemployment Payments: If you file for unemployment benefits, you can expect an extra $600 per week in addition to regular unemployment benefits for the next four months as a result of the CARES Act. The unemployment benefit time period has been increased to 39 weeks. To learn more about unemployment benefits in your state, click here.

Financial Strength & Deposit Insurance

ACCU remains well in excess of what regulators call “well-capitalized.” This has solidly prepared us for economic challenges such as these. America’s Christian Credit Union is federally insured by the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund (NCUSIF), with deposits insured up to at least $250,000 per individual depositor. As an additional member benefit for expanded coverage, excess deposit insurance by American Share Insurance is also provided for balances above federal limits.

At America’s Christian Credit Union, we are Stronger Together! Thank you for your membership and your confidence in ACCU. We are here for you if you need any additional assistance.

Sincerely in Christ,

Vicki VannBerstein, MBA
President/CEO

Hello Valued Members,

We continue to pray for you and all our members, ministries and businesses during the Coronavirus disease pandemic (COVID-19). We know that the Coronavirus is affecting many of our members across the country. The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act was recently signed into law and includes several provisions aimed at helping businesses and ministries sustain operations and continue paying employees for 8 weeks during the Covid-19 restrictions.

Here is one of the highlights that may directly impact you:

Paycheck Protection Program: A $349 billion Small Business Administration (SBA) lending program with a 100% government guarantee. These loans are forgivable if proceeds are utilized as outlined in the program and now available to churches, ministries, Christian Schools and other non-profit 501(c)(3)s. Loan proceeds can be used to cover payroll, healthcare, mortgage, rent, utilities and interest on debt. ACCU is approved as a lender for this program and began taking applications on Friday, April 3, 2020. Processing of PPP applications is on a first come, first served basis. However, first priority for PPP applications is being given to our existing members. As a federally regulated state charted credit union, we are only allowed to fund loans to members.

Dear Member,

Greetings in Christ! Never would we have imagined that we would be in such unusual and challenging times, yet we know that God is not surprised by this; in fact, He remains entirely in control and unchanging even amidst the constantly changing world that we are living in.

On March 25, California announced an agreement between the state and four major U.S. banks as well as several large California credit unions. These institutions have agreed to defer residential mortgage payments for up to 90 days and to refrain from reporting these as late payments to credit bureaus. As a credit union chartered by California, regulated by the federal government, and most importantly, aligned with Christian values, America’s Christian Credit Union (ACCU) will join these larger institutions in providing relief to our real estate borrowers who are financially impacted by COVID-19. And that’s just a small part of the package of measures we are taking to re-affirm our commitment to our members.

If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it." 1 Corinthians 12:26

We know that the coronavirus is affecting many of our members across the country. We want to assure you that we are here to do everything we can to help you navigate hardships you may be enduring in the wake of this novel pandemic. Doing so is consistent with our calling not only as believers but as member/owners of this banking ministry. Our mission now is to assist our members in communities across the country in responding to hardships and recovery efforts. We call this "Stronger Together" and it is our rallying cry -- well beyond this coronavirus epidemic response.

"Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms." 1 Peter 4:10

ACCU will not limit loan deferments only to the declared major disaster states. We feel a deep sense of commitment and conviction to helping all our members who are impacted by COVID-19. Any member who has suffered a loss of earnings related to this crisis is eligible. Additionally, we can offer accommodation on any of your loans with ACCU - not just your mortgage.  We can help with skipping loan payments with no fees (including credit cards), offering loans with an auto used as collateral, student loan forbearance, business and church loan payment deferrals or interest-only payments.

Furthermore, ACCU will continue to offer Disaster Relief Loans offering 90-day interest-free emergency loans in states declared to be in a state of emergency*, fee waivers and other relief solutions tailored to the needs of each member affected by the pandemic.

If we can be of assistance, please reach out to one of our member service representatives or lending experts at 800.343.6328, 8am to 5pm (Pacific), Monday through Friday.

Dear Member,

Thank you for being a valued member of America’s Christian Credit Union! It has come to our attention that recently, you have taken advantage of shared branching services (using another credit union's teller or lobby services).

We do want to take the opportunity to inform you that many of our shared branch partners may be limiting or temporarily suspending service to shared branch members in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The most up-to-date information about branch lobbies and potential closings is available at co-opfs.org.

All ATMs including those within the Co-Op network will continue to operate as normal as will your debit and credit card transactions. There will be no disruptions to these key processes as we all seek to get through this outbreak together.

As an alternative, our online and mobile banking platforms are the most accessible means to access your account. Upon logging in, you can accomplish any number of banking functions including reviewing account balances, money transfers, loan payments, check deposits, and much more. This is especially important as we are being given "distance banking" guidelines by national and local authorities.

We advise calling each location to ensure shared branch services are available before arrival. As always, your friendly member service representatives are always here to help should you need additional assistance during these challenging times.

Again, thank you for your membership and your confidence in America's Christian Credit Union. Our prayer is that God will continue to give you and your family all you need to be well and filled with abiding peace.

"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." Romans 15:13 (NIV)

Blessings in Christ,
America's Christian Credit Union

Fellow members of ACCU,

Greetings! I pray you are finding the close comfort and peace of Jesus in your life, family, community, and church. We are excited to welcome our new President/CEO Vicki VannBerstein on Monday, March 23, 2020.

Would you join us to pray for her as she assumes this important responsibility – especially in the midst of so much transition for all of us? Nations are calling us to “Social Distancing,” and we add to that a call to “Social Responsibility.”  I’d love the opportunity to share some personal thoughts with you through this video. Please know of our commitment to you and the anticipation we feel as we step together into a new chapter for America's Christian Credit Union.

Blessings,

Rev. Dr. Kevin Mannoia
Board Chair

MARCH 18, 2020: Beware of scam emails claiming to have updated lists of COVID-19 cases in your area or asking for donations. Visit The Federal Trade Comission's Coronavirus Scams Page for more information on the latest trending scams. Additionally, we please visit our Cyber Security Page for helpful tips to avoid scams and fraudsters.

With the spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus), some scammers are sending out emails related to the outbreak. Beware of these new scams:

  • Emails appearing to be from official organizations like the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) or the World Health Organization (WHO). These emails contain phishing links or malicious attachments.
  • Emails asking for charity donations for COVID-19 studies or for victims of the outbreak. Scammers often create fake charities after natural disasters or disease outbreaks.
  • Emails claiming to have a new, or updated, list of COVID-19 cases in your area. These emails could have dangerous links or attachments.

Remember that you should never click on links or download attachments from an email that you weren’t expecting. Get your information from reliable sources, like the CDC website or the WHO website. And only donate to charities by typing in the URL to their official websites, not by clicking on links in emails.

MARCH 17, 2020: The Azusa branch of America’s Christian Credit Union will suspend its teller activities at this branch location only out of an abundance of caution. This temporary suspension is largely being used to redistribute staff members and ease the strain of scheduling conflicts while school and day-care options become limited to our team members.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have cause. We anticipate returning to full-service capacity and reopening this branch as soon as we're able.

Should you need branch level assistance, our Glendora Branch located at 2100 E. Route 66 will remain open during normal business hours (Monday – Friday 9:00 AM to 5 PM).

In Addition, all of our ATMs, as well as access to over 30,000 surcharge free ATMs and over 5,600 shared branch locations remain available you. You can locate a branch or ATM by visiting co-opfs.org

As we acknowledge that our faith is in God, we pray that God gives you and your family all you need to be well and at peace. We also pray for those who have been impacted by this virus around the world and for the church to seize ministry opportunities.

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” - Romans 15:3

As we acknowledge that our faith is in God, we pray that God gives you and your family all you need to be well and at peace. We also pray for those who have been impacted by this virus around the world and for the church to seize ministry opportunities.
